To factory reset the Bublcam please take the following steps:
1. Make sure the camera is turned off (the bubl button LED should be off).
2. Download BUBL_REC.TXT and BUBL_UPD.BIN to your microSD card and insert it into the Bublcam.
3. Turn on the Bublcam and it will reset the device to factory settings.
NOTE: Your Bublcam WiFi password will be reset back to the default: 12345678.
Where is "this file"?
Where is "this file", I think so too.
Sorry guys! We will be adding "this file" soon.
Sorry about that everyone, this article has been updated with the correct files.
Well my bubl stopped connecting via wifi using default passcode, I've tried above steps and my bubl just stays on boot up mode ( led goes on and off ) that's it, nothing else.
I have the same problem - and I've logged a support request 10 days ago without any response from Bublcam support... Any updates would be great. My Bubl is currently not usable since I cannot connect to it via wifi.
Another week later, and still no reply from Bubl support. I don't think this company exist anymore...
Posting here in case someone else can benefit from my many trials and errors.
I was having an issue where my Bublcam would not turn on. It would instead blink purple quickly, which according to this page (https://support.bubl.io/hc/en-us/articles/204610639-Getting-Started) means "Something went wrong. Need to recover the OS.".
I filled out the form here (https://goo.gl/forms/3zAxPyh0FP), and after a couple weeks I received a special USB dongle I use when charging the device. I charged the device, then tried to boot. It still would not.
I then followed the procedures outlined on this page (https://goo.gl/forms/3zAxPyh0FP). I had tried in the past unsuccessfully, but after charging using the new charging dongle, it worked. One thing to point out is that if you are using an SD/microSD converter, make sure the "lock" slider is turned off so you are actually overwriting the files you're attempting to put on the microSD. My lock slider had accidentally gotten turned on at some point, and I'm not confident that Mac was alerting me that the file was read-only.
Best of luck!
Finally received a response from Bublcam support - the files have been updated and using the new files (from links on the page above), did complete factory reset - my Bublcam is back in action!! These instructions and the new files in updated links above works to reset and wipe the password option - reverting to the factory default.
